How YOUR Inner-Critic is RUINING Your Vocal Goals…
𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝙎𝙀𝙇𝙁 𝙎𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙏𝙊𝙂𝙄𝙉𝙂?
Begin to think about your thoughts with a little more attention. 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶?
The way you talk to yourself is 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵.
The 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰 is basically the voice inside your head that fuels the negative and crucial comments about yourself.
This can look like…
“I’ll never amount to anything.”
“I’m not good enough anyway.”
“What have you done?”
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Be seen and not heard.”
When your 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳-𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤 has power over you, you may find…
☀️ yourself lost professionally and personally
☀️ doubt your abilities and suffer from Impostor Syndrome
☀️ work harder and over compensate for the inner-critic to prove yourself to be “successful” and eventually suffering from burnout.
☀️ That you identify with the inner critic, believing it’s a huge part of your personality.
☀️ it harder to sing without judging yourself.
The 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳-𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 addresses issues and tries to find solutions for them. This is the more “optimistic” voice.
When you find yourself stuck listening to the inner-critic, try to rephrase from the perspective of the inner-coach.
