Start Giving CONTEXT

Have you ever been guilty of this 👇🏼

So many artists believe that by posting their release announcements, they’re doing enough to promote their music…

But in reality it is FAN REPELLENT!

Let’s pretend your song is a brand-new car.

Which promo message or advertisement sounds more appealing to you as a consumer:

A) NEW CAR IS OUT NOW EVERYWHERE! GO GET ONE NOWWW! OR

B) You’re going to have an incredible time on your Girls-Night-Out as a passenger in our brand-new Toyota Corolla.

Which message makes you more likely to enjoy the car? A or B?

Let’s put it back in context with your song…

A is the equivalent of— “Go stream my song! It’s out now!”

While B will sell you on the experience— “My brand-new song is a dance-pop party anthem that will keep your feet moving all night long. I wrote this because… [context] and if you’ve ever wanted [song context], you can find my song [location]

It’s not enough to be a good singer and it is NOT enough to just tell people you have a song out!

You need to start giving them REASONS to listen and they will

Crafting your personal brand will help you do this authentically and consistently. I will be teaching this in my program Stand Out and SHINE!

I’m rooting for you.

X James
